We are on a crusade to save the future of textiles – to honor and promote them and to take them to new dimensions. In reaction to the increasingly digital landscape of our lives, a craving for tactility and dimension has led designers to reconsider the role of fabrics once more. We have recently seen the return of creative textiles in both fashion and our interiors, covering our bodies, floors, walls and furniture in an expansive and personal manner.
These textiles speak loud and clear to become the fabrics of life, narrating stories, designing patterns, promoting well-being, and reviving the act of weaving. We believe that it is important to take notice again of contemporary textiles because they are themselves an endangered species.
Creativity is the only solution — so we founded TALKING TEXTILES magazine to talk more about the thriving creativity in the textile industry. Each year, an inspiring topic of interest is covered by an annual issue. In 2023, the magazine is taking a break from print and celebrating the creativity of yarns and knitwear by unraveling 30 posts in 30 days! A digital lineup curated by Dori Azoulay as part of September’s New York Textile Month.
Since textiles have the power to reflect the fabric of our society, this initiative provides an alternative solution to the problems of last century, with optimism and fantasy to transform our nomadic lives.
