In this knitted series Melissa Dadourian connects knits and patchwork into one; both crafts have a long history rooted in domestic life. Many traditional quilts and knits were created by women in their homes allowing individuals to create practical and decorative items for their homes. This creative outlet is an integral part of domestic life.
Both knitting and domestic life often require patience and time management. Completing a knitting project can take time, much like managing household chores and responsibilities.

These familiar items create the illusion of being safe and protected. She wants the viewer to feel as though they are experiencing a new world, one that is both strange and strangely familiar.
